Constructing Smiles With Metal Braces

At Norton Orthodontics, our metal braces are sleeker, less noticeable, and comfier than you might think. These sturdy and budget-friendly options excel at fixing tricky dental problems, straightening teeth, and eliminating gaps.

With offices in Bonita Springs, Cape Coral, and Port Charlotte, we're all about streamlining your treatment for quick and effective results.

Brackets

Brackets are made from a mix of stainless steel and other durable metals. They feature tiny doors or hooks where a wire threads through. Either a door clicks shut, or a small elastic secures the wire.

Glue

Dr. Norton uses a specialized adhesive to firmly attach the brackets to your teeth. Once they're on, they're staying put!

Archwire

This thin metal wire connects each bracket and helps steer your teeth to their new positions. Usually, it connects all your top or bottom teeth, but sometimes, we'll trim it to focus on a specific area.

Elastics

Elastics stretch between hooks on your top and bottom brackets. They help nudge your jaw into the right position, whether it needs to move forward or back.

Orthodontic Bands

Consider these bands the foundation of your braces. Crafted from stainless steel, they're bonded to your teeth and can secure other orthodontic devices. No worries—they're comfy, and not everyone needs them.

Spacers

For patients requiring additional space between their teeth, spacers offer a proactive solution. These small rubber loops create just enough space for bands to slide in later. Some people call them separators, too.

Elastic Ties/O-Rings/Ligatures/Colors

These represent the pinnacle of aesthetic options within the realm of orthodontic braces. These tiny rubber bands connect your archwire to the brackets. Softer than spacers, they come in a variety of hues to let your personality shine through.
